The New Manna centre and Rehabilitation For Young Offenders
Rehabilitation For Young Offenders Through our partner Edik in Russia out team were able to make contact and spend time with a local rehabilitation group for young offenders. These boys were aged between 11-16years. Our team were asked to support the youngsters through friendship & by encouraging them to play basket ball - football etc. Also by spending time with them building relationships, sharing cultural knowledge/experiences which helped to educate them on what life can be like.
New Manna centre The New Manna Centre was opened in 2000 (managed by our Canadian partners) to provide a place of hope and shelter for street kids to get food and warmth, for young people to be protected and as a resource and distribution centre to give out humanitarian aid into orphanages.
Our team stayed at the New Manna centre amongst 14 youngsters living as a large family group. These youngsters have been sponsored on the live-in programme which helps them get back into society without the abuse, danger and trauma that many of them have experienced.
In addition to this many hundreds of youngsters will visit the centre during the day for food and warmth. These are kids who have been abandoned and live rough in railway and bus stations, alleys, markets, sewers and underground basements.
